TEDDY

I know that we are full and have an army of foster families, but this poor little mite comes from an area in Parthenay that is over run with stray and abandoned cats.

Suffering from severe diarrhoea and skin and bone at just 4 weeks olds we took him in and immediately one of our wonderful volunteers said they would care for him until his adoption. Thank goodness for our team of angels who help us every day, come what may. Not only are we running a full refuge but also foster families and sterilisation programmes.

Where TEDDY comes from there are more than 10 strays that need to be sterilised and we have started the programme to deal with it. If you would like to support us in our battle to make a better life for all the poor helpless babies and mums that are suffering, please make a donation. Every donation, however small, means so very much. Thankyou

Update on Teddy’s progress 5th Sept 2022

TEDDY visited the vets today as his diarrhoea was still quite bad and he was obviously losing weight. In fact he has lost 100gr in 3 days, even though we have managed to keep him well hydrated. He is on antibiotics for his tummy infection, one eighth of a tablet per day!

Teddy’s diet is Royal Canin gastroenteritis kitten. He is bathed regularly when he is soiled and he loves nothing more than to be wrapped in a warm towel and cuddled.

This tiny scrap of 400gr is in fact approx. 6/7weeks old. It’s so sad that he has suffered so much already in his short life. Now tonight he is in the safe and loving embrace of his foster family and we shall keep you updated on this tiny man’s progress.

Sad news regarding Teddy – 7th Sept 2022

I cannot bear to share with you our last photos of this darling little boy. At just 7 wks old and weighing a pittance, we tried to save him up until the end, but no treatment or medication, injections or specialist nutrition changed what was inevitable.

We are all in tears. Tiny Teddy had such a strong spirit we thought he stood more of a chance in pulling through, yet we were all sadly mistaken. We shall remember him at his brightest.

Rest peacefully now our much loved kitten, you at least were not alone when you passed over the rainbow bridge to a much sweeter life. Just a very short time in our lives, but such a huge part in our hearts. Sleep tight baby boy. We all love you.
